Voice Alarm Systems (EN54)
Safety that saves lives. Clear communication in critical situations.
Voice Alarm Systems
Voice Alarm Systems are sound transmission systems whose main purpose is to alert, in an unequivocal way and in the shortest possible time, the occupants of a building or venue to an emergency situation, enabling an orderly and safe evacuation.
Safety and Compliance EN 54
At InteliAV, we design, supply, and install voice evacuation systems in full accordance with the European Standard EN 54, ensuring maximum reliability, intelligibility, and safety.
What is a Voice Alarm System?
A Voice Alarm System (EVAC) is a professional audio infrastructure that broadcasts alert and guidance messages in emergency situations such as fires, bomb threats, or other critical events. These systems can also be used to broadcast commercial messages, paging, and background music under normal operating conditions.
Why a Voice Evacuation System?
Clarity and Intelligibility
Unlike traditional sirens, voice evacuation systems deliver clear and specific messages, reducing panic and guiding people effectively.
Legal Compliance
Mandatory in highoccupancy buildings such as shopping centres, hospitals, hotels, airports, transport hubs, and corporate buildings.
Fast and Coordinated Response
Allows different zones of the building to be alerted independently and in a coordinated way, optimising the evacuation process.
MultiFunctionality
Beyond the emergency function, the system can be used for internal communication, background music, and commercial announcements.
Essential Technical Characteristics
Emergency Microphone
The microphone must have absolute priority over all audio inputs, including prerecorded messages. As soon as the microphone is activated, all other audio sources are muted. Where more than one emergency microphone exists, a priority rule must be defined.
Redundant Amplifiers
In the event of a control system failure, there must be amplifier redundancy to ensure continuous system operation.
Redundant Loudspeaker Lines
Loudspeaker lines must always be in perfect working condition. Regular preventive maintenance is recommended to ensure there are no failures in an emergency.
Autonomous Power Supplies
In the event of a power failure, the power supplies ensure system continuity for a minimum period of 24 hours in standby mode and 30 minutes in evacuation mode.
Intelligibility and Sound Pressure
