Assistive Listening Systems
Technology at the service of inclusion and sound clarity.
Assistive Listening Systems
Hearing accessibility is essential to ensure that everyone participates fully in events, meetings, and public spaces. More than a legal obligation, it is a commitment to inclusion and equal access to information.
Technology for Hearing Inclusion
We design and install systems that guarantee perfect sound clarity and eliminate background noise. At InteliAV, we provide exceptional auditory experiences for everyone, regardless of their hearing abilities.
What is Assistive Listening?
Who is it for?
- People with hearing aids or cochlear implants
- People with mild to moderate hearing loss
- People in noisy environments or acoustically challenging spaces
- Older adults with age-related hearing difficulties
- Anyone who needs sound reinforcement to better understand speech
Assistive Listening Technologies
Induction Loop Systems (Hearing Loops)
How it works:
1. Room audio (microphones, sound system, etc.) is sent to an induction loop amplifier.
2. The amplifier powers a cable (loop) installed around the perimeter of the room, under the floor or in the ceiling.
3. The cable creates a magnetic field that covers the entire area.
4. Users with Tcoil–equipped hearing aids activate the “T” function and receive the audio directly, without background noise.
Infrared Systems (IR)
Infrared (IR) systems transmit audio using infrared light to individual portable receivers, ensuring total privacy and no interference between adjacent spaces.
How it works:
1. Room audio is sent to an infrared emitter.
2. The emitter transmits the audio via infrared light.
3. Users receive portable receivers with headphones or neckloops (for Tcoil hearing aids).
4. The receivers capture the infrared signal and reproduce the audio.
Radio Frequency Systems (RF)
Radio frequency systems transmit audio using radio waves to portable receivers, allowing full mobility and coverage across large areas.
How it works:
1. Room audio is sent to an RF transmitter.
2. The transmitter broadcasts the radio signal.
3. Users receive portable receivers with headphones or neckloops.
4. The receivers capture the radio signal and reproduce the audio.
WiFi Systems and Audio Streaming
WiFi audio streaming systems transmit audio over the WiFi network to smartphones, tablets, or dedicated devices, allowing users to listen through their own headphones or Bluetooth hearing aids.
How it works:
1. Room audio is sent to a streaming server.
2. The server transmits the audio over the WiFi network.
3. Users access the stream through an app on their smartphone.
4. The audio is played through headphones or Bluetooth hearing aids.
